Making palette discussions useful at a clothing swap

Our library is hosting a small clothing swap, and I am preparing an optional discussion about choosing colors from the available donations. The activity should stay accessible to visitors with no previous interest in fashion. The donated clothes will span many styles, while practical needs will vary between participants. I would like the discussion to help people notice options they might otherwise overlook. Someone proposed seasonal signs for the tables, although the categories may confuse new visitors. One subject on my preparation list is personal color analysis and would like to introduce the vocabulary without presenting it as a set of rules. There will be mirrors, but we cannot offer private consultations or individual assessments. Perhaps a simple comparison exercise would be more useful than signs with seasonal names. Do you have suggestions for a friendly prompt that keeps personal choice at the center?
