Which details matter in a hair color comparison?
I need a removable fringe for a costume, and I am trying to compare its color with my natural hair. My own photos are in window light, but the sellers show their samples under much brighter studio lights. The brown labels cover a surprisingly wide range, from golden looking samples to much cooler ones. I found hair color analysis and wondered whether a more precise description would help me ask sellers the right questions. Is matching depth a useful first step before trying to judge the warmer or cooler cast? Because the piece touches my own hair, even a modest difference could stand out at the join. The costume will be worn indoors, so I would also compare the sample in that room. I can request a small physical swatch if the pictures remain inconclusive. Has anyone matched a removable hairpiece this way, and which details were most useful in the comparison?
