Choosing hairstyle details for everyday constraints
I am preparing a student portrait series in which the styling changes but the lighting stays consistent. Our model is happy to experiment as long as the hairstyle can return to normal that evening. Our current reference label is blonde hair with pink bangs for this project. We are discussing removable pieces rather than dye, since neither of us wants a permanent colour change. I want the fringe to look like part of the hairstyle instead of an unrelated prop placed across the forehead. A practice session should give us time to compare placements before the actual shoot. The background and camera angle will stay the same while we try the different placements. We will ask the model to check the fit for comfort before deciding which version to use for the finished assignment. Does anyone have practical advice on choosing the width of a removable fringe section for portrait photographs?
