Half the fun of climbing to the endgame in Aion 2 is making sure your character looks absolute badass while doing it. Standard gear is fine for stats, but if you want to stand out during world PvP or look impressive idling in hubs, you will want to start collecting weapon skins. Thankfully, NCSoft has built a universal wardrobe system into the game, making it pretty straightforward to manage your cosmetic overlays once you unlock them. Here is a breakdown of exactly how you can farm, extract, buy, or upgrade your way to a cooler arsenal. 1. Item Extraction & UpgradingIf you have an inventory overflowing with duplicate loot or old gear you have outgrown, do not just vendor it. You can extract appearances directly from weapons to permanently add them to your wardrobe menu. The Extraction Gamble: When you extract a standard weapon, there is roughly a 25% base chance that you will successfully unlock its look as a permanent skin. However, if you are working with weapons obtained directly through story quests, you are in luck—those have a 100% guaranteed success rate. Skin Combining: Because of that 25% RNG on regular items, you are going to end up with quite a few duplicate weapon skins. Instead of letting them sit there, you can head over to the skin combining menu. By smashing 5 identical rarity skins together, you can attempt to upgrade them to the next tier. For example, combining 5 common skins gives you a 25% shot at pulling a rare-tier skin.
2. In-Game Cash Shop & Kuna CurrencyFor those looking to skip the grind or grab something a bit more flashy and stylized, the premium path is always open through the in-game shop. Direct Purchases with Kuna: You can spend Kuna, the game's premium currency, to buy standalone premium weapon skins or full themed cosmetic bundles directly from the cash shop. These usually sport unique ambient particle effects you cannot find on standard world drops. The Battle Pass Route: If you are looking for better value for your money, keeping an eye on the Battle Pass tracks is your best bet. Both the free and premium tracks regularly award cosmetic weapon boxes, special seasonal tokens, and exclusive "skins chests" just for playing through your daily and weekly tasks.
3. High-Tier Dungeons & End-Game FarmingIf you want the skins that actually carry bragging rights, you will have to earn them the hard way. Some of the best-looking prestige cosmetics in the game cannot be bought with Kuna; they require deep dungeon runs and dedicated farming. High-Level Dungeon Drops: Stepping into challenging 4-star endgame dungeons, like the Dying Dramata Nest, gives you a shot at localized weapon and armor sets. These sets double as unique cosmetic overlays that tell everyone exactly what kind of content you are clearing. Legendary Extendable Weapons: Highly sought after by melee classes due to their literal combat advantage of extended attack range, these legendary weapons also happen to look incredible. They feature flashy custom visual effects and can be targeted and farmed out via intensive endgame PvE loops.
Gamer Tip: Showing Off Your Unlocked WeaponsThere is nothing more annoying than grinding out a beautiful weapon skin only for your character to automatically sheath it and hide it from view the moment you stand still. If you notice your gear disappearing when you go idle, head over to Settings, click on Graphics, navigate to Camera, and switch the Visible Weapon Display toggle to ON. This forces your character to permanently showcase their equipped weapon skin even when you are just chilling out in town.
